Tenmangu Shrine, the God of Learning
Tenmangu Shrine is a shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, known as the "god of learning." At the end of the year and beginning of the year, you can see many students visiting the shrine to pray for success in their entrance exams.
Kitano Tenmangu Shrine (Kyoto) and Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine (Fukuoka) are the two main shrines, and there are about 12,000 shrines nationwide.
In the precincts, a sacred cow (nadeushi), which gives blessings when stroked, is worshiped.
About the kit
This kit is a model of a building cut in half, and is compact enough to be displayed on a bookshelf when completed. It is mainly made of natural wood such as cypress and shina, and is mainly composed of wooden laser-cut parts with high dimensional accuracy. Wooden parts other than those laser-cut are also cut, so there is no need for additional work and smooth assembly is possible.
In addition, etching parts (made of brass, only the sacred mirror is made of mirror-finished stainless steel) that accentuate the luxury are used extensively not only on the exterior but also inside the building. The LED lights included in the kit enhance the decoration and create a solemn atmosphere in the worship hall.
